[J. Reuben Clark]
A Mrs. Belnap telephoned me at my home claiming to represent several woman who are pregnant. She herself is pregnant and has had the measles and she wonders if she should have an abortion. I told her she should seek the advice of her physician, getting such advice and council as she can, and also seek the Lord in prayer. She said that in such cases the hearing of the child may be affected, or the child may even be Mongoloid. I suggested that she might wish to get the advice of two or three doctors in the matter.
