Armed dissenters seized the Kirtland Temple. Apostle Brigham Young left Kirtland on account of the LDS reformers, who reportedly threatened to kill him because publicly supported Joseph Smith as a prophet. (1)

[Joseph Smith Sermon] Remarks at Nauvoo, Ill. to Daniel Shearer December 22,
.22--- Heard his correspondence with Gov Carlin. as prepared for Gen Bennet. Recited in German to Elder Hyde, Bro Shearer asked the meaning of the Little leaven in 3 measures of meal. Joseph. - said italludes expessly to the last days. when there about be little faith on the earth & itleaven the whole world. There shall be safity in Zion & Jerusalem & the remnants whom the Lord shall call. It refers to the Priesthood. - Truth springing up on a fixed principle3 measures refers to the 3 in the grand Presidency confining the oracles to a certainhead on the principle of 3. (3)
