Attended committee [composed of Joseph Fielding Smith and James E. Talmage] meeting appointed by the Council of the Twelve to consider the matter of Temple records. The presidents and recorders of Temples were present with us. [Note: On April 12, 1913, the First Presidency instructed, based on the recommendations of Joseph Fielding Smith and James E. Talmage, that temples begin using typewriters instead of writing reports by hand, using loose-leaf sheets instead of large bound volumes, a card index system, and not maintaining duplicate records.]
