[President Heber J. Grant Diary] I called at my son-in-law George J. Cannon's and listened to President Hoover's speech of acceptance. I thought it was far ahead of Roosevelt's speech in Chicago-to my mind, more statesmanlike. Maybe I do Roosevelt an injustice, but I give Hoover credit for being less of a politician and more of a statesman.
