Attended meeting of BYU Board of Trustees. At the commencement of this meeting, President Clark stated to those present in substance that the present attitude of spending agencies throughout the Church indicates clearly that restraints should be built up and that the sentiment and favor of free spending (in some cases reckless spending) should be changed; and he expressed the firm conviction that unless such a change were brought about the Church might easily run into financial difficulties which might be hard to remedy.
