[Joseph Smith] A group of young people gather at Heber C. Kimball's home. Their "loose style of morals" was made evident because they wasted time with "too frequent attendance at balls, parties, etc." Elder Kimball offers to give them some instruction. Soon they begin meeting regularly. This leads to the formation of the "Young Gentlemen and Ladies Relief Society," a forerunner of future Church youth organizations.
