[Heber J. Grant]
This afternoon I borrowed my son-in-law Wallace Bennett's new Lincoln-Zephyr car and had a ride. I took with me Mrs. Anbrose McKay, widow of the former manager of the Tribune and who changed the Tribune from a vile, lying newspaper to a straightforward, fine newspaper. At the time President Smith died there was a very fine editorial in the Tribune telling what a wonderful man President Smith was. I met Mr. McKay that morning and told him I accepted that editorial as a complete cancellation of all the lies the paper had previously published, and would call the matter even. I laughed and so did he.
