[Heber J. Grant]
Called on Don B. Colton and talked with him about the second son of Hyrum G. Smith. This son had made a statement to Brother Colton that while looking at his father's picture in the temple it was as though a voice had said to him, 'The Presidency has done the proper thing in not appointing your brother as the Patriarch.' I was glad to get that word. The young man had said that he felt quite grateful for that impression. I have not been able to make up my mind in favor of letting the oldest son of Hyrum G. Smith become the Patriarch of the Church.
