I then had an interview with Brother James E. Talmage on several important matters and he delivered to me a record kept by Benjamin F. Johnson, an intimate friend of the Prophet Joseph in the days of Nauvoo. He said that in reading this record over while coming from the Emery Stake Conference, he found very many confidential things regarding second blessings, the restoration of plural marriage etc. to the Church by the Prophet Joseph, and said that it is a record that ought not to be taken away from the Historian's office. He handed me the book and I delivered it to Brother George F. Gibbs, telling him to put it in the Presidency's vault. ...
