Joseph marches across the Grand River to the mouth of Honey Creek and from there takes a boat 18 miles to Lyman Wight's home. Wight lives at the foot of Tower Hill, a name Joseph gives the hill because of some ruins, which he designates as an old Nephite altar or tower. One half mile from Lyman Wight's ferry, the brethren reach a place called Spring Hill; the Lord names it Adam-ondi-Ahman, "because, said He, it is the place where Adam shall come to visit his people, or the Ancient of Days shall sit, as spoken of by Daniel the Prophet." The above-quoted explanation of the name Adam-ondi-Ahman, is now found as D&C 116.
