[Spencer W. Kimball] I have just come from a long talk with Elder Harold B. Lee and he reminds me of some items which I want to record. ...
Brother Lee told me [regarding] Pres. Grant in California when he was so ill and when everyone thought he would not survive ... Pres. Grant remarked that ... he would live as long as the Lord wanted him to live and lead the church and that he was sure he (Heber J. Grant) would outlive Rudger (Clawson) and Reed (Smoot).
He stated many times at various times that he knew that he would be preserved till the time when the Lord wanted to make a change in the leadership of the Church.
