[Patriarchal Blessings] Isreal Duty. (Given by Joseph Smith, Sen.)

"Brother, I call thee brother for thou art of the blood of my mother and I seal a Father's blessing upon you, even the blessing of Abraham for thou art of the blood of Abraham, and thou shalt be blessed of the Lord thy God. If faithful thou wilt be blessed with the holy priesthood and the power of God shall rest upon you, yea thou shalt receive power over sickness and over disease of all sorts, insomuch that no power beneath the heavens shall stay thy hand for the Lord will uphold thee by his power and support and strength, by the Holy Spirit. It shall be thy privilege to see thy Redeemer in the flesh for the Lord will cause his blessings to rest upon thee in great power. Thou shalt fish thy brothers and sisters and hunt them and bring them . . ." (Copy of a portion of a blessing discovered among papers at Nauvoo. From typescript; RLDS Archives.) [Age, 45; Scribe, ?]
