Joseph sets Heber C. Kimball apart as president of the British Mission [first foreign mission]; seven of the Twelve leave from New York 1 July. Perhaps about this time, Joseph Jr. accuses Parrish of stealing $25,000. When Frederick G. Williams, as justice of the peace, refuses to give him a search warrant, Joseph drops him from the First Presidency.
