[John Henry Smith]
I was busy all day over the trouble in the house. R. R. Anderson insulted me most shamefully. I threatened him with personal violence and was on the eve of administering it, but the Lord gave me power to hold myself and I asked Anderson's pardon for loosing my temper with him. ... Anderson gave no evidence of a desire to make right with me for the language he had used. I cannot bear his insults and slurs anymore.
