[David O. McKay]
President Wilkinson said that there are rumors that he is going to have some difficulty before the Legislature with regard to the Eminent Domain bill. He feels that he might need my help and, if necessary, would like me to write a letter to Senator Orval Hafen. ... I mentioned to him further that I had heard a report that the Church, and especially the President of the Church, are being accused of every ill that has come to the Legislature. I indicated to President Wilkinson that if he could get by without a letter from me it would be wiser. He said that if he found out during the day that B.Y.U. is in grave danger of losing out, he will deliver to me or to my secretary a draft of a letter which would be suitable for me to send to Senator Hafen of the Senate.
