Meeting of the First Presidency and Apostles at the Temple at 11 A.M. ..

The subject of the removal of the Catawba Indians was considered. It was decided that Brother Lyman communicate with Elder A[nthony]. W. Ivins to learn what inducements could be offered for the removal of the Indians to Mexico, as it was decided that the climate would be suitable, and they would be free there from race prejudices.

Pres[ident]. L[orenzo]. Snow introduced the subject of the Word of Wisdom, expressing the opinion that it was violated as much or more in the improper use of meat as in other things, and thought the time was near at hand when the Latter Day Saints should be taught to refrain from meat eating and the shedding of animal blood. ...
