[Heber J. Grant]
In the evening, March 8th, President Cannon, Apostles Richards, Young, Lyman, Grant and Taylor met with a few members of the Legislature at the residence of President Joseph F Smith in the 17th Ward. The appropriation bill was the question under discussion. We felt that it was necessary to pass the bill be concurrent resolution. The meeting was a long one, and the matter was discussed very freely and frankly on all sides. It was anything but an easy matter to get the members of the Legislature to view this matter as we did.
