[Apostle Anthon H. Lund Diary] [the first meeting of the apostles in their new room in the Salt Lake temple] Geo[rge] Teasdale... He loved Bro[ther] Woodruff like a father yet the Lord had shown him that he was to be adopted to the Prophet [Joseph Smith] and on a new-years day he was given to Eliza R. Snow, wife of Joseph as son. He had at once felt a love as sone to a mother. [H. J. Grant then spoke; he ad wondered why he had been called to this office, and while riding over the burning lands of Arizona on a mule it came to him that he had net been so placed on account of his merit.]; but on account of his father's merit and of that of the prophet, his mother being a wife of Joseph."
