[General] Brother Charles S. Burton and Superintendent Joseph Young had a talk with the Presidency about paving South Temple Street from the Eagle Gate to the Oregon Shortline Depot. It was decided that the President sign a petition to the City Council asking that this be done.

Mrs. Sarah Everard called at the office in regard to the same business presented to President [Lorenzo] Snow on September 25th last, which proposition was now agreed to by the Presidency. Instead however of seven per cent. being the consideration Sister Everard requires eight. The last clause of her proposition was reconsidered and agreed to by her, namely, that in the event of her death, or in the case the London [England] Branch should cease to exist or be disorganized, that the interest then go to the Temple.
