[Marriner W. Merrill] This day has been set apart by the First Presidency for fasting and prayer and for the Saints to confess their sins to one another and ask forgiveness in public meeting. I went to meeting at 11 a. m., met with the people of Richmond, confessed my sins, and asked forgiveness of the Saints if I had done anyone any wrong. Many of the Saints, male and female, spoke in a similar manner. We had an excellent meeting; held it 4 hours until all were satisfied.
