Location unknown On Saturday [March 29, 1845] Ruth [Moon Clayton] and Margaret [Moon Clayton] received their [[second]] anointing for which I [William Clayton] feel thankful. Margaret had some good instructions and she feels satisfied and reconciled. She says she will never leave me on any consideration. ' I still feel determined to do all I can and be as faithful as I know how for that is the desire of my heart, but my greatest desire is to so live that I may secure for myself and mine the highest degree of exaltation and glory which is possible for me to obtain, and to be with my friend Joseph Smith in the eternal world.
[William Clayton, Diary, entry dated March 31, 1845, as quoted in Joseph Smith's Quorum of the Anointed 1842-1845 A Documentary History edited by Devery S. Anderson and Gary James Bergera]
