[Heber J. Grant]
This evening at the residence opposite my mother's I married Willard Brigham Richards to Louie Snelgrove. This is the first marriage I have ever performed as a minister acting under the law that was passed at the last meeting of the Legislature Dr. Richards (Jos S.) wished to pay me for the marriage but I declined to accept anything. I would willingly marry any of my friends at any time, but at the same time I always regret to see the marriage, of any one that has been raised in the church, outside of the Temples or the Endowment House.
