President Heber J. Grant meets with representatives of the Arizona State Legislature. Grant is in Arizona to lobby against naming a bridge over the Colorado River "Lee's Ferry Bridge" after John D. Lee. The Arizona Legislature had passed a bill naming the bridge three days earlier. The next day Grant addresses a joint session of the Legislature and argues for a name which is "distinguished and constructive." The newspapers agree, since advertising for the state would be better. His efforts prove successful, and the name is changed.
