Patriarchal Blessing by B. F. Johnson, given in Tempe, A. T. [Arizona Territory] May 25, 1889, upon Benjamin Samuel Johnson, son of Benjamin F. and Mary Ann Johnson ... And the meek of the earth shall rejoice in thee, and gather around thee as flocks unto their shepherds. The winds and the waves shall obey thee. Devils shall flee before thee, while the sick and the lame, the blind and the halt, shall be healed by thy command. ... Thy arm shall be strong to resist oppression and to avenge the blood of the innocent. The poor shall ever rejoice in thee, for the Lord will open unto thee the treasures of the earth, & thou shalt feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and be mighty in assisting to rear the temples, cities and bulwarks in Zion and in gathering her children. Wives and children shall be multiplied unto thee...
Thou shalt assist in rearing the holy temple in Zion, and thou shalt minister therein with thy companion, when the glory of the Lord shall rest upon its towers and fill its courts: and when Israel returns from the north country to receive their crowing in Zion, thou and thy companion shalt minister unto them. ... and I seal thee up unto eternal life, to come forth in the morning of the first ressurrection [resurrection], to be crowned with glory, immortality and eternal lives, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
