This is the probable date for Lucy's and Joseph Sr.'s return to Manchester. Lucy says that upon their return, they found Samuel and Sophronia "very sick" . If Joseph Sr.'s purchase of medicine for Samuel relates to Lucy's account, then their return to Manchester pre-dates 11 September 1828 . Lucy reports that soon after their return, Oliver Cowdery came to live with them.
