Clean-up campaign for all L.D.S. Church property-- The opening sentence of this letter of instructions calling for a clean-up campaign of all L.D.S. Church-owned property makes reference to "recent fires in the East with resulting large casualty lists." The Coconut Grove dance hall in Boston, Massachusetts, had burned on November 28, 1942, with 492 casualities. Church properties were to be checked for fire hazards to prevent such loss of life and property damage. {1942-December 22-Original circular letter, L.D.S. Church Archives, Salt Lake City, Utah.}
