75 years ago today - Jul 22, 1936

[General] First counselor J. Reuben Clark recommends that Communist candidate for U.S. president be denied use of Salt Lake Tabernacle for speech. Also recommends to "confidentially" advise Utah's governor to have Mormon members of American Legion armed with "Picks and ax-handles" to attend Communist Party's rally in Liberty Park.
