The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve approved a series of guidelines to reaffirm the centrality of the Savior in the name of the Church. Church members, news organizations and others were asked to use the full and correct name of the Church – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – and to avoid use of the term "Mormon Church."
