I had a couple of teeth extracted night before last, went out of door soon after and got cold. ... I would try to keep off the jaw and teeth with all my might to prevent my teeth from aching, and then talked some two hours to the people, as hard as I could preach, and, when I would get through, feel as though I would die during the following night. ... I have suffered more than to die a thousand times over. I have felt deaths iron grasp many and many a time, but I have so far over come the grim Messenger so far ...
