In your letter of June 12, 1935, to President Heber J. Grant, you express the desire to have an explanation which will harmonize the word of the Lord in the Doctrine and Covenants, Section 76, verses 50-94 with the statement in Section 131, where it is stated that in the Celestial Kingdom there are three degrees, or glories. You also say that you feel that the Prophet Joseph Smith was not correctly quoted in Section 131.
There is no conflict between these two revelations. In the verses you refer to in Section 76, the Lord makes it very clear to us that all who are just and true by their integrity and obedience to all the principles of the Gospel, are made 'equal in power, and in might, and in dominion.' This does not, however, preclude others from entering the Celestial Kingdom in some lesser degree who have not received all the covenants and obligations upon which the highest exaltation in that kingdom is based. ....
