[ZCMI opens for business: Wilford Woodruff]
At 9 oclok this Morning I met with the Presidency & 12 at Mr Jennings Store which had been stocked as the first whole Sale dry goods Store of the Cooperative Society [ZCMI].

Our Meeting was for the dedication of this Store unto God. We all knelt before the Lord & Presidt Brigham Young Dedicated the Building unto the Lord naming Evry part & portion of the Building from the foundation to the top thereof. He was followed By George A Smith & Daniel H Wells. Each prayed in their turn. This is the first time I Ever saw A dedication with three Prayers in this Church.
