John Corrill presents a petition to the state legislature signed by Edward Partridge, Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, and others, which explains the history of the conflict in Missouri. A Mr. Turner submits a bill calling for a full investigation of the troubles in Missouri. A huge debate develops over the problem, but eventually nothing happens. After the Saints have completely left Missouri, $2,000 in relief funds is approved for the 12,000 Saints, while $200,000 is voted to pay the state militia for the expenses in the Mormon war.
