I then called Richard L. Evans to come to my office, and told him of his selection to be one of the Seven Presidents of the Seventies. I could see that he was very much disappointed. I had a confidential talk with him and learned that it had undoubtedly been suggested to him. He did not say. He said he told his brother the one and only place of authority in all the Church that he hoped he would never be called to fill is one for the Seven Presidents of the Seventies.
