Benjamin Franklin Cowdery (a second cousin of Oliver Cowdery) and Benjamin F. Smead apparently purchased the printing office of the defunct Allegany Mercury in Olean, Cattaraugus, NY and there founded and published the Hamilton Recorder until early 1820.
