... O[rson] Hyde opened on the subject of sending Missionaries among the Indians, & marry wives in different tribes want good men who will maintain their integrity

B[righam] Y[oung] wants 20 or 30 to go to Green River with Hyde next Spring to Pottawatamies, Cherokees, Choctaws, Sioux Crows, Blackfeet, instruct them in private ...

P[arley]. Pratt said the Indians Wives are heirs, & can not be got out of them, I would rather want to go to the Indians that raise grain, & not profess to be a Mormon until I learnt the language

B Y All the tribes North & South are ready, & want to have us among them Antaro wants up to marry with them suppose 20 or 30 men marry it will bring all the influence of the tribes the squaws will work & then the Indians will work it is our duty to do it to send our Missionaries to the House of Israel send to the Islands tell the Elders to marry the natives

... B Y Which of the 12 will set the 70 the example I never said go boys but come boys marry chiefs daughters
