The morning papers contained the amnesty which had been granted to the violators of the anti-polygamy laws by President Harrison. It has been a long time coming, and now that it has come it brings comparatively little benefit to our people, though it would not be wise for us to belittle it. ... Its value in my opinion consists in the moral effect it will have on the country, and it also shows the drift of public sentiment. ...
