[Franklin D. Richards] At 11-30 met Apostle Moses Thatcher & deliberated, then we went to Pres[iden]ts. Office. I asked the 3 Pres[iden]ts if they would grant me Moses, J[ohn]. T. Caine, C[harles]. W. Penrose & one of my sons F[ranklin] S R[ichards], or C[harles] C R[ichards] an interview & if so when. Reply call at 2 P.M. & get answer.
At 2 p.m. declined an interview W[ilford]. W[oodruff]. & J[oseph]. F. S[mith]. willing the brethren should make all proper efforts on both sides to carry their parties only not to slander, throw dirt, & be mean each other. About 3 p.m. I met M[oses] T]hatcher]. F[ranklin] S R[ichards]. C[harles] C R[ichards], & C[harles] W. Penrose at F[ranklin] S R[ichards] office & reported.
Pres[iden]t. W[ilford]. W[oodruff]. approved F[ranklin] S R[ichards], C[harles] C R[ichards] in their courses as proper & right. J[oseph] F S[mith] rather the celebration was now partisan.
