NEW YORK TIMES report that LDS church has preferred charges against LaMar E. Kay for embezzling $604,199.65 while employee of church's Auditing Department. This legal and publicized action is departure from previous church policy not to disclose embezzlements. Kay receives twenty-year sentence.
