A letter was read from Mahonri M. Young, dated 27th ult., proposing to make a companion figure of the Patriarch Hyrum Smith for the same figure as the one made by him of the Prophet, $4500. delivered complete in bronze, to include certain alterations in the figure of the Prophet Joseph [Smith], said alterations to involve the remodeling of the figure of the Prophet at no additional expense to the Church.
After discussing the matter for some time, President Anthon H. Lund moved that a companion statue of Patriarch Hyrum Smith be made by Brother Young at the figure and on the conditions named by him. Motion seconded by Bro[ther]s. Clawson and John Henry Smith, and carried.
