Joseph, Sidney, Frederick, Oliver, Martin, W. W. Phelps, Peter Whitmer Jr., and Joseph Coe gather in Independence. Sidney dedicates the city site, Joseph lays a stone at the northeast corner of the temple site. "After all present had rendered thanks to the great ruler of the Universe, Sidney Rigdon pronounced this Spot of ground wholy dedicated unto the Lord forever: Amen."
