At 5 o'clock p.m. the First Presidency and Twelve met in the President's Bee Hive Mansion where Albert Carrington was ordained a member of the Twelve Apostles under the hands of Brigham Young, Geo. A. Smith, Daniel H. Wells, Orson Pratt, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, Geo. Q. Cannon and Jos. F. Smith, Pres. Brigham Young being mouth. After this the brethren clothed and offered prayer in the usual order. [Carrington is the first general authority with B.A degree (Dartmouth College, 1834, Phi Beta Kappa). He is also first general authority who attended Ivy League school.]
