In President [Brigham] Young's private room in the Lion House, February 4, 1864, he (Pres[ident]. Young) ordained Joseph Angell Young and Brigham Young Jr., Apostles, and confirmed upon John Willard Young the ordination to the Apostleship which he received when he went through the Endowment House (which was November 22, 1855) and set each of them apart as assistant counselors to the First Presidency. He also blessed John W. Young who was the first son born to him under the New and Everlasting Covenant. He was born October 1, 1844. Elder Brigham Young was sustained as a member of the Council of the Twelve October 9, 1868.
