[William Clayton]
B. Young called me on one side & said he wants to give me some instructions on the priesthood [plural marriage] the first opportunity. He said the prophet had told him to do so & to give me a favor which I have long desired [Sarah Crooks, whom Clayton met on him mission in England]. For this again I feel grateful to God & his servant, and the desire of my heart is to do right and be saved [Clayton apparently being told that this marriage would provide salvation].
