[Brigham Young Jr.]
Met Presidency in Temple at 12 noon. Considerable talk was had & Pres[ident]. [George Q.] Cannon read a document purporting to have been written under Pres[ident] Jno [John] Taylor's dictation which gave C[annon]. complete controle over all the B[ullion]& B[eck] dedicated stock which he afterwards gave up to claimants, and now claims that he is responsible to God alone for the management of his dedicated B[ullion]. & B[eck]. stock. This was all news to the Council, or Bro[ther]. C[annon]. had caused the idea that his stock was still dedicated as we understood it. I was shocked to hear Bro[ther]. C[annon]. make the statement th[at] I am the sole custodian of the dedicated stock. I understood Pres[ident]. Taylor that this stock would be held independ[e]ntly by his successor in office to which it would be duly transfered at proper time. All was forgiven by us all and we partook of the sacrament I think worthily before God.
