[David O. McKay]
President Jay A. Quealy, Jr., of the Honolulu Stake telephoned from Honolulu. Said that [former Presiding Patriarch, released do to homosexual activity] Joseph F. Smith's son's farewell is this coming Sunday night. The missionary son is requesting that his father speak at the farewell. President Quealy asked if he could give Brother Smith permission to speak on this occasion. I answered that I suppose there is nothing we can do but let him speak, so permission was granted.
