[Heber J. Grant]
[When Louis Marcus won as mayor by nearly 12,000 votes over LDS candidate John F. Bowman] Mr. Louis Marcus called and was very delighted with his remarkable victory and admitted he was very glad we hadn't published any cards in his behalf or taken any active part in the campaign. He said he wanted us to know that if we had any suggestions to make for the betterment of the condition of the City not to hesitate to make them. This is quite remarkable, coming from a Jew, seeing that none of our own brethren, when they have been Mayor of the City, have ever made any suggestions to us that they would like any advice or counsel from the Presidency of the Church.
