[Thomas A. Clawson] Went to the Temple Fast Meeting at 10 AM and we had a most splendid time. Pres[iden]t Jos[eph] F. Smith in speaking expressed his love for Pres[iden]t Brigham Young and his successors and also their children and that whatever action had been taken against any of their children by the Church [over the estate of Brigham Young] was done and brought on by their own actions and the Church had to be protected against them. He deplored very much what had to be done and it caused him as much grief and sorrow as if it were his own son.
