[Heber J. Grant] The matters considered at the Gardo was as to whether there should be a vote taken tomorrow on the Manifesto by the conference or not. The matter was left entirely in the hands of Prest. Woodruff to act. It was the feelings of those present that Brother Jno T. Caine was the best man to be nominated for Congress ... I am amused, when I see the increase of faith among the saints, at the remarks of our enemies that the Mormon Church is on the decline.
